Abstract
In this paper, we extend a 1D three-layer feedforward neural associative memory model to 2D version, and present its modified model suitable for optical implementation by studying the realization of the bipolar neuron states and bipolar interconnections. Furthermore, a novel programmable opto-electronic three layer associative memory system based on Dammann grating and other elements is presented. Experimental results demonstrate its feasibility.
