Development of Collaborative Implement for Active Observation (CIAO)

A software named CIAO (Collaborative Implement for Active Observation) was developed to support learning through active observation of video materials. Its functions include capability of playing multi-angle movies synchronously with protocol text and random access to a specific scene designated by clicking on the corresponding part of the protocol text. Focusing on counsellor education through a small group discussion, the authors have been developing a learning material dealing with a realistic case of counselling interview session aiming to improve interview skills through intensive observations and discussions.
