Abstract
An optimised sampled-grating DBR laser addressing 80 wavelength channels over 33 nm with a SMSR greater than 30 dB is presented. An AM bandwidth greater than 3 GHz has been measured on all channels, compatible with 2.5 Gb/s modulation. Handling of this device requires only two low tuning currents leading to a low power consumption.
