Abstract
A novel low loss (<1 dB) 10 dB power splitter, based on mode conversion and adiabatic mode filtering, is realised in InP. Polarisation insensitive splitting ratios of 10/spl plusmn/1 dB have been measured at /spl lambda/=1.5 /spl mu/m.
