Abstract :
We report on a widely tunable, single-frequency, linearly-polarized Er:Yb:glass laser. A 36-nm tuning range, from 1528 to 1564 nm, is achieved with output power ranging from 1 mW to 8 mW. Wavelength tuning and polarization operations are simultaneously obtained by using a special polarizing etalon with anisotropic absorption losses.
