Abstract
The aim of this paper is to develop an optimal scheme of controlling argon flow on steel-making technology in which an improved Pulse Code Modulation technology and fuzzy control method are applied. Difficulty on controlling the argon flow is analyzed. The strategy of controlling argon stirring energy is proposed. The hardware configuration and soft flowchart of this system are given. Technology practices show that the argon flow for molten steel container is controlled automatically and accurately. This scheme can overcome unfavorable influence on system from operator, external environment (pressure, temperature), the steel ladle brick blockage, pipeline leaks and other. The intelligent control system of blowing argon has been successfully used in several steelworks.
