  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In contrast to conventional beam steering in a phased-array antenna, a retrodirective antenna is self-steering, and does not require any externally controlled phase shifters. This feature has attracted recent interest for wireless and satellite communication applications. This paper reviews retrodirective antenna array research at the University of Hawaii (Ah Yo et al. (2000); Forsyth et al. (2002)). Applications include picosatellite crosslinks and a method for using multipath signals to enhance communications in severe multipath environments.
