Abstract
The 3G mobile communication network is delayed or being tested world-wide for various reasons. On the side of network evolution, most experts and communication providers have a common concept, but their opinions are specifically various on how to progress. Nevertheless, no matter what they do, it is truly regarded that convergence or integration is essential to reduce OAM costs and prevent costs from overlapping investment. We propose an integrated gateway system that is named A-MiDAS (advanced mobile Internet data access system) and provides simultaneous packet services in cdma2000 and W-CDMA. We also present the method to design the software configuration for implementing the system. At present, the designed A-MiDAS is undergoing implementation, with the plan to schedule the application to real networks according to the 3G mobile communication evolution and an open policy for mobile communication networks.
