Abstract
Based on a traditional machinery manufacturing technology, a chip antenna design method is proposed for dual-band operation. This new approach emphasizes three techniques for the optimal frequency tuning for this kind of antenna with a material-loaded meander line. The antenna metal line, made by wire-cutting technology, is placed on a ceramic block, and two techniques are applied to obtain dual-band operation. One is to lay out the meander line with irregular width, and the other one is to cover it with an extra ceramic block.
