Abstract
In this paper, multipath propagation mechanisms including diffraction and reflection are studied by transmitting a 900 MHz (CW) vertically polarized signal from a fixed emitter to a mobile receiver. The receiver is equipped with a cross-dipole antenna (two crossed elements) which makes possible the application of polarization diversity in order to reduce the deep fades that affect the signal envelope. Measurements were also performed for empirical modeling and validation of the theoretical work carried out in this paper.
