The paper seeks to examine the relationship between competitive intelligence (CI) and crisis response of small and middle-sized business (SMB). Research showed that CI had all-right pre-warning capabilities to crisis. Based on the analyzing SMB´s crises and crisis sources, this paper proposed a SMB´s CI process of crisis pre-warning, which included many distinctive CI methods. Given the SMB´s characters, a lot of effective suggestions to enhance SMB´s pre-warning capability were put out. With the help of CI, SMB´s could reduce negative impact of emergencies or even win additional opportunities.
