Abstract
We address a problem related to space-filling-curve antennas, namely, the problem of mutual coupling between two such antennas. We take two identical Hilbert antennas that are located near each other in one of the three configurations of (a) collinear, (b) side-by-side, and (c) stacked, and using a method-of-moment based numerical simulation code, we analyze the maximum coupling between these two antennas. We repeat our analysis for two adjacent Peano antennas. We then compare the results of our analysis for these two classes of antennas with that of the mutual coupling for simple linear resonant dipoles in collinear, side-by-side, and stacked configurations.
