Abstract
Fuzzy logic is an intuitive problem solving technique with widespread applicability, especially in the areas of control and decision making. In general, fuzzy logic is most useful in handling problems not easily definable by mathematical equations and models. However, fuzzy logic itself has a mathematical and deterministic basis to it. In fact, fuzzy systems are often built upon simple and predictable math operations, such as interpolation, min/max, and weighted averaging. The author illustrates the structure and operation of a fuzzy-based setpoint controller. The presented structure is abstracted from implementation details, such as data structures and algorithms
