Abstract :
With the development of e-commerce, the performance of the Web site is a very important factor should be considered. So a performance model of the Web applications must be given for capacity planning and analysis purposes. The most widely deployed Web application architecture is the 3-tiered system, which is composed of a front-end Web server, an application server and a backend database server, for economic reason, the web sites are build on a share hosting platform. In this paper, we present an analytical model of the 3-tiered J2EE Web application architecture. We give the model by using queueing network theory and a MVA evaluation algorithm, in the end we give a compare with the results tested with LoadRunner. The virtual private server model is more accurate.
