Abstract :
This paper investigates the configuration of a new series hybrid active power filter consisting of a single tuned resonant branch between voltage source inverter and coupling transformer. The configuration is characterized by well filtering performance and reduces the capacity of active power filter. In addition, as the conflict between the harmonic compensation performance and the system stability, the PD compensation is drawn into the main circuit of the configuration. The mathematical model is proposed and the frequency characteristic is analyzed based on this control strategy. The analysis shows that the system stability and the harmonic compensation performance are improved at the same time. Simulation results show the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
