Abstract
An ad-hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile hosts forming a temporary network without the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized administration. In this project, implementation of DSR algorithm in ad-hoc network using VHDL is presented. An ad-hoc network model with 6 mobile nodes distributed over three transmission zones was designed. The data communication among the nodes was established using asynchronous VLSI. Among the available protocols, DSR protocol was chosen because of its suitability to ad-hoc networks. The details of DSR protocol were studied and the algorithm was developed using VHDL code. This was implemented on the designed ad-hoc network model. Once the implementation was completed, the performance of the protocol was tested through simulation.
