Abstract :
In the future wireless networks are characterized with heterogeneity and user-central services, many challenges will be encountered in the area of mobility management, such as heterogeneous access, paging, rerouting, etc. Reconfiguration which is evolved from SDR can be a resolution to meet above requirements. The concept of GLL (generic link layer) was introduced to improve the network performance by using a uniform link layer platform to reduce packet loss during reconfiguration of inter-system handover. However, the mobility management implemented by GLL is not the most efficient method because of the absence of necessary information communication between different layers which micro mobility and access mobility require. This paper proposes a so-called "cross layer mobility management (CLMM) based on GLL" mobility management architecture based on cross layer optimization in reconfigurable networks. The concept of CLMM based on GLL has been presented, and the procedure of the execution has been described in detail
