Abstract :
The characteristics of a new multiband tapered I-beam microstrip patch antenna fed by a single strip line have been analyzed using a full wave analysis simulator. The multiband antenna performance greatly depends on the design parameters, which have been used to control the antenna resonance frequencies and bandwidths. The proposed antenna is constructed on glass-epoxy FR-4 substrate with relative permittivity 4.6. Numerical results of the different design antenna parameters radiation characteristics, including current density on the patch, near field, gain and radiation pattern are presented.
