Abstract :
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) transducers are used in the evaluation of interfaces in coaxially extruded Zirconium-Zircaloy tubes and the clamping condition of Nitinol couplers over stainless steel tubing. A detailed description of the evaluation interface in a Zirconium-Zircaloy tube, on which the same transducer was used both as the transmitter and the receiver, is given. The multiple echo signals were analyzed and reflection coefficients as small as 0.006 were accurately measured. Comparisons are made with the measurement results of conventional transducers
