Abstract
A simulator is developed based on analysis of operational characteristics of railway interlocking, where switches and line sections are considered as servers, trains as customers, and train operation as the service process. In this multi-server-multi-queue system, services are carried out governed by interlocking logic and the clock is put forward through process interaction. Greedy algorithm is used in route selection and possible dead-lock is prevented by special checking mechanism. Case study shows that by this simulator, the capacity of interlocking can be calculated more precisely.
