Abstract :
Based on the recently introduced equivalent TEM mode theory and the relationship between slot antennas and complementary conducting strips, the main radiation and scattering properties of generally oriented slots on broad and narrow walls of rectangular guides have been determined. Thus, simple closed form expressions are given for radiation fields of slots of arbitrary length and orientation. The power radiated by slot is also determined as percentage of power carried by propagating mode inside the guide. The resonant slot length is finally given. Comparison with the previous available results obtained by rather sophisticated methods showed good agreement.
