Abstract :
The power of ultra-wideband (UWB) systems has an extremely large frequency bandwidth which is a potential interference to some narrowband systems such as GPS, CDMA and WLAN. So it´s a key problem to explore the coexistence characteristics of UWB systems to some narrowband system since UWB techniques are being put in practice in high rate data communication and high precision radio navigation & location applications. It´s presented the analysis of three factors, power spectral density (PSD) of modulated sequence, pulse repetition frequency (PRF) and energy spectral density (ESD) of pulse, which may have effect on interference power to other systems. It´s proposed that pseudo-random codes with suitable properties or parameters and pulse with well designed waveform could reduce the interference in some extent. It´s presented the simulation of interference power of DS-UWB system with typical narrowband system, such as GPS (L1). Furthermore, GPS (L1) suffering from single and multi-interference of DS-UWB is analyzed in detail. Safe distance is computed by direct and simulation method respectively when single DS-UWB interference exists. Safe density is computed by plane area integral and Monte Carlo simulation when multi-interference exists
