Abstract :
This paper proposes to discuss on the electromagnetic (EM) immunity tests methodologies actually defined in standards and their application to the GSM-R (Global System for Mobile communications-Railways). It presents a background about the existent standards, the applied test signals and their inadaptability to provide immunity of the GSM-R system. The paper also presents a methodology to perform immunity tests on GSM-R transmissions in laboratory and analyses the impact of the test signals on the results.
