Abstract :
We propose a new design for an electronically steerable parasitic array radiator antenna that is about 96% smaller than conventional antennas. The size reduction enables the beam steerable antenna to be on board mobile terminals. The antenna can form and scan a beam with an actual gain of about 6.5 dBi without a matching circuit. It is shown that the current is exited more on parasitic elements than on the fed element, and that the excited phase distribution is an end-fire array
