Abstract :
The design of an omni-directional broadband planar antenna for vehicle telematic applications is described. The antenna based on the design is compact and low-cost and therefore suitable for ITS (intelligent transportation system) applications. The valid frequency coverage of this design is from 350 MHz to 24 GHz. It is found that this design can get an impedance bandwidth of 66% (VSWR<1.5). The far-field radiation pattern is omni-directional in H-plane, and the antenna gain is above 0 dBi
