Abstract
The paper presents further details of implementation of a laser sensor system used to determine the movements, position and distance to a target without any physical contact. The sensor system generates a laser plane, uses a video system to extract position and distance information, all controlled by a DSP system. A genetic algorithm is used to compute the body position with respect to the video camera. Several possible applications of the bio-instrumental sensor are discussed.
