Abstract :
A new phosphorescent 2-(para-nitryl-phenyl)-benzothiazo late iridium(III) acetylacetone complex (p-NO2-bt)2Ir(acac) is synthesized from para-nitrobenzoic acid, 2-aminothiophenol and iridium trichloride anhydrate via a three-step reaction. The complex is characterized by FT-IR, 1HNMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The solubility, thermogravitometric analysis, UV-vis absorption, photoluminescence, and quantum efficiency of the complex are also investigated.
