Abstract :
The measurement of soil moisture and density is an important issue can not be ignored in the field of agricultural production. This paper introduces a measurement system of soil moisture and density based γ-rays. The attenuation of intensity will change when γ-rays pass through different substances. So this system can measure the moisture and density of soil by making γ-rays penetrate the soil samples with a certain way and counting the particles at the receiving end. At the same time, dual-energy γ-rays are adopted in this system and it solves the problem that the density and moisture of soil will also change with the interaction of force and the content of water. Experimental results show that this method can achieve non destructive, rapid and highly accurate measurement.
