Abstract :
In this paper, a new kind of small antenna is proposed. The method is to cut some very narrow slits on the metal patch by a knife. The slits change the current path and the effective length of the current path gets longer. So the antenna size is minimized. A series inductance network is established for analysis. Experiments on two small antennas with different slit shapes, one with H-shape slit and the other with four straight slits, are reported.
