Abstract
"Design for" methodologies have been becoming more and more important to the semiconductor industry as chips geometries become smaller, and complexity increases. There is a challenge in the so-called back-end semiconductor industry to introduce such design for methodology not just at the back-end, but also across the whole company. This paper is a basic introduction to trends and changes underway in semiconductor back-end manufacturing. We call these trends the new Design for Business culture.
