Abstract :
A description is given of the Informix-Turbo, a database engine that has been designed for high-performance online transaction processing and for fault tolerance under power failure and loss of magnetic media on Unix systems. Informix-Turbo makes use of System V shared memory and raw I/O to manage concurrency and transaction logging. Use of these features allows database tables to span multiple disks and programmers to specify several levels of isolation.<>
