Abstract
An optical architecture for filtering microwave and millimeter-wave signals is proposed and demonstrated. The filter response can be continuously tuned by changing the phase shift between filter taps. The architecture is based on a nematic liquid crystal spatial light modulator in parallel configuration and has the potential to control a large number of taps. Proof-of concept experimental results are provided.
