Abstract :
This paper describes the service-level management architecture, developed to support the aims of the TRUMPET (DGXIIIB, AC112) project: to investigate secure, high integrity interactions between administratively separate bodies providing broadband telecommunications services. To investigate these issues a system was designed that included a number of players interacting over a mixture of technologies-i.e. Java, CMIP and CORBA. These technologies are used to implement technology independent interface information models derived from TMN. These models were developed using the ODP Viewpoint methodology enhanced with UML notation schemes and informed by concepts from TINA; and this paper illustrates some of this background. The service architecture provides ATM Virtual Paths, with specified Quality of Service, across two or more Network Operators offering service to a Values Added Service Provider; who in turn is offering the full end-to-end service to a number of customers
