Abstract
A compact architecture for a real-time signal compressing processor based on the acoustooptic interaction is presented. The processor is designed in a single paratellurite acoustooptic Bragg cell with an access time of 40 μs. This yields a 1023-point resolution for a 25 MHz bandwidth. The interaction geometry, processing theory, and experimental results are reported
