  • Abstract
From various multicarrier transmission systems adopted for indoor or outdoor wireless local area networks, the multicarrier direct sequence code-division multiple-access (MC DS-CDMA) scheme is newly defined and its performance is considered. The system performance investigation is particularly focused on the cases where the system´s cyclic overhead could tolerate the channel delay profile. In order to obtain a comprehensive insight on its performance in WLAN environment we have derived analytical framework for determining the average bit-error rate. From the analytical derivation, the average BER of our MC/DS-CDMA is independent of interferences caused by multipath, multiuser, and multichannel. Hence, in the view point of designing an alternative transmission system for a local wireless communication network, our proposed scheme could provide a flexible scalability with respect to transmission rate, user, and bandwidth along with communication security. The performance analysis results verify the superb capability of the proposed MC/DC-CDMA scheme when applied to a local wireless communication rather than mobile communication.
