Abstract :
A novel method of surface roughness measurement is proposed to overcome the disadvantages such as limited lateral resolution and scratching on soft material surfaces of mechanical stylus. With the focalizing of optical lens, a singular single-mode optical fiber as a optical probe transmits light and measures surface profile non-contact. Virtual instrument software LabVIEW is used to analyze and process measuring data and calculate roughness parameters.
