Abstract
To meet the security need in high performance router, specific hardware supporting IPSec protocol must be designed. We give the detailed design including hardware and software of implementing IPSec in the high performance router. The aim of the design is to provide the trustinness security without sacrificing the performance of the router and enables the router capable of performing the cryptographic requirements of both AH and ESP mechanisms in transport and tunnel mode
