  • Abstract
We present here a novel architecture for a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) that incorporates multi-technology blocks to work in multi-technology environments (e.g. combinations of Digital Logic, CMOS based Analog, Photonic, MEMS, Microwave, etc.). Based on a modular approach that resembles conventional FPGA design, the architecture presented here is robust and scalable. Implemented using a conventional CMOS VLSI device technology, this new FPGA architecture will enable the design of reconfigurable systems the incorporate technologies outside of the traditional electronic domain.
