Abstract
Nowadays there exists problem of railway power supplying devices diagnostics, especially for Sverdlovsk railway. Sverdlovsk railway is situated at regions with different climate and level of pollution, so exploitation conditions of railway supplying devices at the Urals are hard for insulation in comparison with other regions of Russia. Insulation failure is one of the most cause of power supplying devices failures. Causeless shutdown is mostly insulation failure too, because it mostly means surface discharge on inorganic insulation (porcelain, glass), that hasn´t been detected. The problem of insulation diagnostics is not only with methods, but also with tradition of periodical tests. So, to improve insulation diagnostics, we must add insulation quality monitoring to traditional periodical tests.
