  • Abstract
    Taking full advantage of the Internet and modern wireless communication technology, a solution to the current parking problems existing in China´s metropolitan cities was proposed based on the parking guidance information system using Web and GIS technology. After thoroughly analyzing the functions and their correspondent module structures, this paper provides both overall and detailed designs using Visual C++ 6.0 and MapXtreme, a product of Mapinfo Corp., as the development platform of Web GIS. In the meantime, this paper also offers the design of database, parking infrastructure information collection method, information processing system, information inquiry and user interface, respectively. At last, implementation steps are given in this paper
