Abstract
We demonstrate demultiplexing of optical time division multiplexed (OTDM) signals to lower bit rates based on four wave mixing (FWM) in highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF). An all-optical tunable delay is implemented for selecting the desired OTDM channel. Both optical delay and demultiplexer are realized in a single piece of HNLF, thus reducing the component count. We show 40 Gb/s to 4 × 10 Gb/s demultiplexing and error free operation for the four channels.
