Abstract :
For personal identification, iris recognition is an excellent biometrics method with high accuracy, but it is very difficult to acquire good-quality iris images in real time. In order to make iris recognition more convenient to use, we design an iris recognition system at a distance about 30 centimeters. There are five key modules to design such a system, including image focusing, iris images acquisition, human-machine interface, feature extraction and recognition. In the system we use the automatic iris identification algorithm, which has high recognition rate and with reliable stability, after the success of the iris matching, the screen of PC will pop up an identifying message window. In this paper, we respectively introduce the modules of the system. The obtained experimental results show that good-quality iris images can be quickly acquired in real time and the iris images can be correctly identified by the system.
