Abstract
Control systems are becoming more distributed in nature. Smart elements are being introduced to achieve distributed fault diagnostics using the concepts of local fault detection (per distributed element). The paper proposes non-linear analytical techniques for fault detection integrated with fuzzy logic concepts for fault characterisation in a particular type of smart nonlinear sensor
