Abstract
The first ever large scale hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) telecommunication network has been successfully implemented in Australia by Optus Vision. This paper describes how one of the key elements of the system architecture is the delivery of uninterrupted AC power to the fiber node and the line amplifier in order to support a “life line” telephony service
