Abstract :
In cone-beam computed tomography (CT) it is theoretically possible to obtain exact volume image reconstruction using an infinite line X-ray source trajectory. An approximate reconstruction algorithm, based on the infinite line trajectory, is derived for finite length linear scanning. Such a configuration may prove useful for medical imaging, and for industrial purposes. The finite line configuration is compared with results for the widely used circular, cone-beam scan
