Abstract :
In this paper, to achieve organizational goals and objectives, ways of how public organizations manage knowledge, their largest single asset, are introduced and five unique properties of knowledge are described as an introduction to the context of knowledge management. With examples from public organization, knowledge management is defined and different roles of man, technology, processes and organizational structure are presented. It is concluded with a description of the benefits of knowledge management (KM) to individuals, communities of practice and public organizations.
