Abstract :
Schools typically consume significant amounts of energy. Analyses of the existing processes of developing course video resources as well as the devices used in these processes suggest that there is a potential to reduce energy consumption. Examinations of the tasks of developing course video resources show that more resources are developed than what is needed for real-time remote education, and that the devices used in the processes have more functions than necessary, resulting in wastage of energy. Thus, there is a need to design low energy-consuming devices to develop course video resources; such devices will require less than one fifth of the energy consumed by devices currently in use. And energy conservation requirements are also proposed for the design of low energy consuming devices. IT firms may design such devices on the basis of these requirements. With such devices, schools will be able to develop course video resources while contributing to the preservation of the environment and the conservation of natural resources.
