Abstract :
This paper presents a new demonstration software environment for teaching Digital Image Processing (DIP), and illustrates how it can facilitate teaching some key concepts and algorithms in DIP. This software is developed with VC during the process of our teaching DIP in an application-oriented college. It comprises abundant functions to demonstrate concepts and algorithms in the course and some other functions to assist in case-based teaching. The graphical user interface is user-friendly and the parameter control is versatile, so that the software can also act as a platform for students to perform experiments and verifications. With the aid of this software, vivid demonstrations can be conducted directly in class, which greatly advances teaching effects.
