Abstract
As the two hemispheres of the human brain are quite similar, this symmetrical property can be used to detect abnormalities that occur in the human brain. This paper describes such an application using neural networks on MRI images of the human head. The absolute difference in intensity between pixels taken from symmetrical areas (difference method) are operated on by the neural network and any major differences among them are highlighted. The neural network is based on the principle of WISARD.
