Abstract
The capacitive electrical momentum, Cdv/dt, is an additive quantity, and is a convenient tool for analysis of oscillations in a current-switching limit cycle resonant oscillator. The oscillator includes a parallel RLC-circuit driven by a comparator with voltage input and current output (transconductance comparator). The analysis is given for two cases. In the first case the comparator has an instant switching of current, in the second case the comparator has a finite slew rate of switching. Both steady state and transient oscillation amplitude and frequency are calculated.
